"Located in a building designed in the 1940's by the famous Portuguese architect, Cassiano Branco, this hotel is unique. Recently restored, it provides not only genuine period surroundings but also all the comfort and facilities required in the world of today. The entrance hall gives direct access to the bar with its lively atmosphere humming with conversation in contrast to the quiet relaxing atmosphere of the lounge which invites one just to read, to listen to music or simply to sit and watch the open fire burning in the grate. The rooms are spacious with beautiful warm-coloured furnishings, classical furniture and exquisite marble period bathrooms restored down to the smallest detail. The size and atmosphere of this hotel give it the air of an exclusive club in which each guest is a member warmly welcomed on arrival and sadly missed on departure."
OUR REVIEW
A quality hotel with an excellent and friendly reception service. You'll feel that they're trustful advisors for your stay in Lisbon. Adding this exceptional service, you will find large rooms decorated with good taste. Centrally located (just 30 seconds on foot away from Lisbon's main avenue: "Avenida da Liberdade"). A very discreet small hotel (30 rooms), where you'll feel as being at home.
"The Heritage Av. Liberdade Hotel is the Hoteis Heritage Lisboa's latest project and is located on the avenida da liberdade, in the historical center of Lisbon. It is a restored late 18th century building, the decoration of which was entrusted to Miguel Câncio Martins - a Portuguese architect who is renowned for his work on mythical spaces like the Thiou and the Buddha Bar in Paris, the Strictly Hush in London and the Man Ray in New York. His design combines the city's own traditions and lifestyle with the most modern technology."
OUR REVIEW
This unique small boutique hotel in Lisbon is a very brilliant example of building restoration. The location could not be better (in the main avenue of the city) and the first impression when you enter the hotel lobby is that you're in the right place to stay in Lisbon. The rooms are also very cozy and very well decorated with items from the "old Lisbon" (like tiles or sepia photos), but never forgetting the modern comfort and needs. A good choice!
"During the second half of the 18th century a mansion was built within St. Jorge's Castle walls on the site of the former Alcáçova Palace kitchens. That's why it is still known as the "Palacete das Cozinhas" (Kitchen Mansion). Along with two floors and a mansard, an inner courtyard and gardens, the Palacete das Cozinhas possesses some Medieval remains - such as the cistern - which are thought to have formed part of some of the original Palace's outbuildings. The mansion combines elements of the rationalist Pombal style of building - the sober frames around the windows and the main gateway - with others that expressed a greater freedom, such as the elaborate design that surmounts the wall attached to the gateway in the main façade, on which we can read " 1765 " - the probable date of its construction. The mansion, which is classified as an Historic Building, has now been transformed into a hotel under the name Solar Do Castelo and has been brought back to life by a high-quality contemporary design."
OUR REVIEW
Another one of our favorites in Lisbon. The real image of charm and personalization that we believe in. A contemporary and classic style hotel with just 14 rooms. Located in the typical and traditional Castelo quarter (it's indeed in the back of St. Jorge's Castle), you'll feel the genuine atmosphere of the traditional Lisbon inhabitants. Of course that due to its size, you can't count on a service with many staff around you but, if what you're looking for is a discrete and very friendly service, or in other words, a home in Lisbon, then this is the one!
"Next to the National Art Museum in the beautiful Rua das Janelas Verdes is a small palace dating from the end of the 18th century which is also called As Janelas Verdes (Green Windows). The house, like the street of the same name, deserves to be discovered slowly, little by little, all the time savouring its gentle, romantic, welcoming atmosphere. Eça de Queirós, the famous Portuguese novelist, is connected to the hotel by tradition and there are those who say that he lived and found inspiration here in this palace for another magical home - "O Ramalhete" in his novel "Os Maias". The memory of his presence is still very much alive in the atmosphere we find ourselves immersed in: small objects of art, books, paintings and mementoes take us back to another era now being relived. The rooms are sunny and cheerful. The Tagus is close by. One feels good here. When Spring arrives, the days begin with a wonderful breakfast served in the garden while you breathe in the calm of an older Lisbon where it still feels good to feel love."
OUR REVIEW
This hotel is a classic Portuguese style house of the 18th century and, gives us a memorable experience. It just has 29 rooms, so it's also a small hotel with character. The rooms are nice and comfortable although they don't have the decoration details of the previous hotels. We advice this hotel for the Portuguese style experience and the personalized service.
Situated alongside the most cosmopolitan artery of the capital, Avenida da Liberdade, Hotel Lisboa Plaza is a place of shelter right in the heart of the city. Inaugurated in April 1954, the Lisbon Plaza has always been in the hands of the same family. The informal atmosphere makes you feel that you're in the company of friends. Designed to be a place of distinction in the hustle and bustle of Lisbon of the 1950's, the Plaza reconciles modernity and comfort. Designed by Lucínio Cruz, the original features are characterised by ingenious, convenient solutions. Revitalised by the Atelier Graça Viterbo, the Plaza brings to mind memories of mansions. By dint of this harmony between the work of these national creators alongside impeccable service, the Lisboa Plaza reflects the character of Lisbon.
OUR REVIEW
Lisboa Plaza Hotel is the biggest hotel of Heritage Lisboa Collection although a personalized character and service is still present in this hotel (the issue is that we, at Tours For You, usually think that "small is beautiful"). It offers a Portuguese style decoration, as always associated with the Heritage Hotel Chain "pedigree". You'll be in a prime location of the city, with walking distance from all major interesting spots and sights. A very interesting option to stay in Lisbon.
