"Located in Terreiro do Paço - Praça do Comércio, a historic part of the city of Lisbon, is now born a new lodging in Praça do Comércio. Historic place of unique importance, this was the place where for centuries ships with goods disembarked. Totally destroyed after the 1755 earthquake, it was Marquês de Pombal the one who gave the order to rebuild almost the entire Lisbon. This is one of the most emblematic places of the city and there are several exit points from here that allow you to visit the rest of Lisbon, walk alongside the Tejo or even cross the river bank. If Lisbon was born at the castle, it was from the Terreiro do Paço (Palace Square) that it expanded. Augusta Street is the main artery that connects the Commerce Square to the beautiful Rossio Square. The Pousada de Lisboa, Monument Hotel Pestana is built in a stately building that once housed the Ministry of Internal Affairs and also a police station. Now was restructured by one of the hotel groups linked to rehabilitation and renewal of areas of historical and cultural value in Portugal. We could not find a more "cinematographic" location in Lisbon than this where the Pousada de Lisboa stands. This new property is designed to be an "icon" of the Lisbon hospitality industry and this responsibility is felt once you enter into its gates. This will undoubtedly be a "premium" hotel of the whole Pestana Group / Pousadas de Portugal, so that the service is offered at the hotel supports this expectation. As we stand here, we feel that we are really in Lisbon of all times, in Lisbon of our imagination and in the best position to explore this city. Very positive note for the rooms that have an exquisite decorative taste and particularly some suites which have a view over Terreiro do Paço and the Tagus River that will be remembered by the privileged that chose to stay in these typologies. This unit is a "must"!
